Intesive English and Sports Summer 2009
Outline
This is the 20th year ModLang offers the most well-known of its courses- its Intensive English and Sports Course for children running between the last week of June and the middle of August. ModLang Directors travel out to the UK and Ireland in early April to offer the Course Presentation & Interview Session in London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin. This Presentation is carefully designed to answer all teachers´questions, covering all the important points they will need to know. It includes photos of the Summer Courses from previous years and a short film of Zaragoza. After the Presentation teachers will be required to attend a short interview. A similar session is held in May in Zaragoza for teachers already in Spain.
Every Summer teachers, who enjoy working with children and who are looking for a new experience, join us from all over the world. Most positions are full-time from Monday to Friday, non-residential with weekends free.Teachers are accommodated in reasonably priced shared apartments in the bustling, cosmopolitan city centre of Zaragoza, particularly attractive this Summer as host to EXPO 2008. Transport to and from school, snacks and lunch are included for teachers.The children on the course, aged 6 to 18, are doing an intensive English course combined with Sports and Swimming classes taught by native speakers of English. Group size is max. 15 students.
Getting to Zaragoza is simple and inexpensive. Ryanair fly direct from London Stansted to Zaragoza or from Dublin and most UK airports offer low-cost flights to Madrid or Barcelona which are 80 minutes from Zaragoza by high-speed train
Job Profile
Positions are available for EFL Teachers and Sports or Swimming Instructors whose native language is English. Most contracts are for 4 weeks on contracts from 21st June to 18th July or 19th July to 15th August but 2 -week contracts are also available and the maximum length of contract is 8 weeks.
These positions are ideal for those new to teaching to gain valuable experience or for more experienced teachers during their school holidays.
Teacher profile
Teachers should have degree level education and may come from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines such as Modern Languages, PGCE graduates, Primary and Secondary School teachers, EFL teachers, Sports teachers, swimming instructors etc. Many teachers have additional skills such as drama or playing a musical instrument and all must enjoy working with children so experience in this field is an advantage. EFL Teachers may hold a specific qualification but school teachers who do not have this specialization also adapt very well to this course. All teaching is in English so Spanish language is not required. Teachers receive training prior to the start to cover specific requirements of the Summer Course.

Complete the Application Form for Summer Course Teaching Staff and forward it to ModLang before 31st March. Successful applicants will receive an invitation to the Course Presentation and Interview session at a venue of their choice. Attendance is a compulsory part of the Selection Procedure.
